TRANSLATION CONTROLLING POLYNUCLEOTIDE

A translation controlling polynucleotide that not only enhances the translation activity of mRNA without suffering any restraints from the species of organism from which a matter for use in noncellular proteins is extracted, or host cells for use in living cell protein syntheses, but also is capable of temperature control, especially enhancing the translation activity at low temperature (<20˚C). Accordingly, there is provided (A) polynucleotide (RNA) inserted in the 3' side of mRNA coding for amino acid sequence to thereby enhance the translation activity of mRNA over that before the insertion in such a manner that the translation activity of mRNA after the insertion is controlled so as to satisfy the relationship X/Y >= 1 wherein X represents the translation activity at temperature below 20˚C and Y represents the translation activity at temperature of 20˚C or higher. There is provided (B) polynucleotide (DNA) inserted in the 3' side of base sequence coding for amino acid sequence to thereby enhance the translation activity of the base sequence over that before the insertion in such a manner that the translation activity of the base sequence after the insertion is controlled so as to satisfy the relationship X/Y >= 1 wherein X represents the translation activity at temperature below 20˚C and Y represents the translation activity at temperature of 20˚C or higher. The above translation controlling polynucleotide (A) is a polynucleotide of SEQ ID NO: 15 or 7, while the above translation controlling polynucleotide (B) is a polynucleotide of SEQ ID NO: 12 or 13.
