COEFFICIENT-OF-RESTITUTION MEASURING METHOD FOR GOLF CLUB HEAD, AND COEFFICIENT-OF-RESTITUTION MEASURING APPARATUS USED FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coefficient-of-restitution measuring apparatus or the like for golf club head by which a coefficient of restitution of a golf club head can easily and accurately be acquired in a short period of time.

SOLUTION: This coefficient-of-restitution measuring apparatus 1 for golf club head is equipped with a load applying frame 2 comprising a base 3, an upper board 4 and a plurality of posts 5 erected between them; a load cell 6 which is arranged on the base 3; and a gripping device 7 which is arranged on the load cell 6, accepts the back face bf side of a golf club head H on the face surface f to which a pressure sensor 14 is stuck in advance, and restrains the head H. The coefficient of restitution measuring device 1 is also equipped with a punch 10 having a rigid spherical surface element 12 which is elevatably supported by the upper board 4 and touches/separates from the face surface f of the head H on the lower end; and a computer (calculating means) 17 which calculates a coefficient of restitution e of the head H by collating a contact area c between the face surface f and the spherical surface element 14 acquired by analyzing a contact surface pressure Q which is measured by the pressure sensor 14 and a calibration curve L between a pre-stored contact area and the coefficient of restitution.
