BIAXIALLY ORIENTED ETHYLENE POLYMER FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented ethylene polymer film which is easily tearable both in the lateral and in the longitudinal directions and excellent in transparency and shrinkability. SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented ethylene polymer film is obtained from (A) an ethylenic polymer having a density of 910-938 Kg/m3, a heat of fusion (ΔHT) as measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) of 100-140 J/g, a heat of fusion (ΔHL) in the temperature range from a melt-starting temperature to 110°C of 50-80 J/g, a heat of fusion (ΔHH) in the temperature range from 110°C to a melt-ending temperature of 35-80 J/g and (ΔHH)/(ΔHL) of 0.5-1.5. When either of the tear strength in the MD direction and the tear strength in the TD direction of the film is named (TS) and the other (TW) (TS≥TW), the tear strength (TS) is in the range of 100-10 N/cm and (TW)/(TS) is in the range of 0.10-1.
