OPTICAL ELEMENT AND PROJECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in an optical element represented by a prism used for a projector has to use a high-quality optical glass as a material even for a part transmitting only undesired light, has to be processed highly precisely and has to be made large in size and high in price. SOLUTION: This optical element includes: glass prisms 22 to 24; and a resin body 21 formed of a material which has light-transmissivity different from that of the prism material in surface-contact with predetermined side faces of the glass prisms 22 to 24. The difference in refractive index between the material for the resin body 21 and the material for the glass prisms is made up by using a material of which the refractive index is smaller than the difference between the refractive index of the material for the glass prisms and that of the air.
