PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of performing sufficient charging to respective pixels without increasing electric power consumption even if the on time of switches of a multiplexer circuit is short and maintaining high sharpness at a low cost. SOLUTION: Analog switches ASW are successively turned on by control signals Sca, Seb and Scc in a scanning period when the respective pixels are selected by a scanning signal Sdi to write a video signal Sgi through the respective analog switches and signal lines into pixels selected with the scanning signal. The scanning signals are turned off and all the control signals Sca, Seb and Scc for controlling the respective analog switches in the period when the pixels are not selected by the scanning signals are simultaneously supplied to the respective analog switches to simultaneously turn on all the analog switches. A plurality of the signal lines are simultaneously interconnected through all of the turned on analog switches and the potentials on the signal lines are set at nearly an intermediate potential.
