PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor excellent in sensitivity behavior, a method for manufacturing the same, and an image forming apparatus with such an electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photoreceptor layer containing a binder resin, a hole transport agent, an electron transport agent and a charge generating agent, wherein a naphthalenofun compound represented by formula (1) is contained as the electron transport agent. The method for manufacturing the same and the image forming apparatus with such an electrophotographic photoreceptor are also provided. In formula (1), R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>4</SP>are each independently H, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl or alkoxy and any two of R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>4</SP>may form a carbocyclic structure by bonding or condensation.
