PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence in degradation of an image beyond a permissible level and reduce the number of times that an image forming action is stopped in correcting the magnification of an image. SOLUTION: The image forming device corrects the magnification of an image by changing the periodic time of arbitrary pixel on a single element basis until a phase adjustment (phase shift value) computed with a fixed frequency and corrects the magnification of an image by changing the frequency of an image signal on a single line or multiple line basis after the phase adjustment exceeds the specified value. Consequently, the frequency of the latter image magnification correction requiring the stop of an image forming action during image formation can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
