发明名称 METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CATALYST
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst which is obtained by a liquid phase reduction method having advantages from the standpoints of equipment, a running cost, etc., is an eggshell type, has the noble metal surface area equal to or higher than that of the catalyst obtained by a gas phase reduction method, has high activity and is so useful as the catalyst for synthesizing vinyl acetate that vinyl acetate can be obtained in high space-time yield. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the catalyst comprises a step (a) to impregnate a carrier with an aqueous solution of a water-soluble noble metal compound, a step (b) to convert the water-soluble noble metal compound into a water-insoluble noble metal compound by bringing an aqueous solution of a basic compound into contact with the carrier impregnated at the step (a), a step (c) to reduce the water-insoluble noble metal compound and produce a noble metal-deposited carrier on the surface layer of which the noble metal is deposited and a step (d) to deposit an alkali metal compound and/or an alkaline-earth metal compound on the noble metal-deposited carrier. Namely, this catalyst is manufactured by depositing the noble metal and the alkali metal compound and/or the alkaline-earth metal compound on the carrier. An element which is oxidized to produce an amphoteric oxide is incorporated in at least one of the aqueous solution of the water-soluble noble metal compound and the aqueous solution of the basic compound.
