PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil for MRI capable of being bent corresponding to the posture of an examinee body and suppressing image quality deterioration. SOLUTION: Three plate members 1 are arranged in one line with gaps, an RF coil 20 is piled up over the three plate members 1, a bend material 2 is piled up over the gaps of the three plate members 1, and the plate members 1, the RF coil 20 and the bend material 2 are clamped by stoppers 30 and 31 and integrated with machine screws 3 and nuts 4. For the coil of the MRI, since the RF coil 20 is bent at a connection part 5, the RF coil 20 is tightly adhered to the examinee body H. The bending angle of the RF coil 20 is limited by the stoppers 30 and 31 and the fluctuation range of the resonance frequency of the RF coil 20 is within the range allowable as a frequency deviation from the transition frequency. Thus, the image quality deterioration due to the deviation of the resonance frequency of the RF coil 20 from the transition frequency is suppressed as well. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
