DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ADJUSTING GRADATION, AND GRADATION ADJUSTING DEVICE CONTROL PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradation adjusting device capable of satisfactorily and easily calibrating target paper with a different color and density other than standard paper assumed by a maker in forming an image on paper by an image forming device.

SOLUTION: A server 12 sets a reference gradation characteristic of standard paper in a composite machine 10 and instructs patch chart printing. The composite machine 10 prints a patch chart on the target paper. A scanner function of the composite machine 10 reads gradation characteristic information provided on the target paper. The server 12 registers an obtained gradation characteristic of the target paper as medium characteristic information representing a characteristic of the target paper in a storing part. At calibration in the case of printing on the target paper, a target gradation characteristic generated on the basis of the medium characteristic information is used to adjust the composite machine 10 so as to obtain the target gradation characteristic on the paper.
