<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic honeycomb structure in which the coefficient of thermal expansion of cordierite crystal itself is lowered by reducing the amount of an Fe-component in the cordierite crystal by an original idea that has never been found. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramic honeycomb structure is formed of a ceramic containing cordierite as a main crystal. The ceramic contains Fe and spinel. The amount of the spinel is ≤4% in X-ray diffraction intensity ratio.
