CERAMIC HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic honeycomb structure in which the coefficient of thermal expansion of cordierite crystal itself is lowered by reducing the amount of an Fe-component in the cordierite crystal by an original idea that has never been found.

SOLUTION: The ceramic honeycomb structure is formed of a ceramic containing cordierite as a main crystal. The ceramic contains Fe and spinel. The amount of the spinel is ≤4% in X-ray diffraction intensity ratio. In the spinel, grains having grain diameters of 0.01-5 μm are included.
