<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor integrated circuit for drive-controlling a voice coil motor capable of being manufactured by a CMOS process in which seek operation, track follow operation and settling operation can be carried out by PWM control with desired control accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: In a voice coil motor drive circuit (200) performing the positioning control of a magnetic head by performing the feedback control of a drive current of a voice coil motor (108) for moving a magnetic head (106) on a magnetic storage disc driven rotationally in order to read information from a storage track on the disc while monitoring the read state of the magnetic head, the movement control of the magnetic head based on a command value from a controller, e.g. seek operation or track follow operation, is carried out by PWM driving. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
