<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit for generating a spread spectrum clock for preventing step-out even when a complicated analogue circuit is used. <P>SOLUTION: The circuit for generating the spread spectrum clock (CGSCC) 200 conducts dithering using a means 260 for modulating an input voltage (V_ctrl) to a VCO. The CGSCC 200 includes a voltage control oscillator (VCO) 210 for generating an output signal (F_out). The VCO 210 includes an input part connected to a voltage control node 216 for receiving a voltage signal, and an output part for generating a clock signal that has a frequency dependent on the received voltage signal. A VCO input voltage modulation means (VIVMM) 260 is connected to the voltage control node (V_ctrl) 216, and modulates or adjusts a voltage at a VCO input voltage node in accordance with control to generate a spread spectrum clock. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
