PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device which suppresses the number of components, prevents the influence due to electronic noise and makes uniform the quantity of light to be received by a line sensor. SOLUTION: In an image reader F, comprising a line sensor S and an image forming lens 13 for forming a document image in the line sensor S for each line, the image forming lens 13 is covered with a shielding member 14 having a disturbance light-suppressing function and electromagnetic shielding functions, and the shielding member 14 comprises an aperture 14a for receiving the light passed uniformly through the image forming lens with respect to the photocells of the line sensor S.
