PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter capable of improving transmission characteristics by preventing deviation from an optimal load of a power amplifier, thereby being operated at the optimal load of the power amplifier. SOLUTION: In this transmitter, a plurality of power amplifiers (PA) 2 amplify transmission signals distributed by a distributor 1, a combiner 3 combines the amplified signals, a CPU control part 7 calculates a VSWR from traveling wave voltage and reflected wave voltage detected by PAs 2 and outputs a control signal for optimization to a motor control part 8, and a drive signal from the motor control part 8 drives a variable element of a tuning/matching device 4 to perform optimization.
