PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user-friendliness of a facsimile machine capable of both communication using an electronic mail and communication using an IP address. SOLUTION: The facsimile machine 100 comprises a data acquiring section 118 for acquiring facsimile data, an accepting section 102 for accepting input of a character string indicating the address of a transmission destination terminal, a domain name generator 108 for generating a domain name on the basis of the character string, an IP address acquiring section 110 for acquiring the IP address corresponding to the domain name from a predetermined server, and an IP address connection transmission processor 114 for transmitting the facsimile data to the IP address via a predetermined IP network.
