PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-reset type thin and small-sized protection element capable of preventing generation of chattering of a contact against vibration and impact from outside, preventing release of the contact due to deformation caused by temperatures other than an inversed part, and carrying out opening of a circuit only when the inversed part is inversed. SOLUTION: This element is constituted to have a base plate 2, a pair of reed terminals 3 which are installed on the base plate 2 and of which opposed faces are mutually separated, a movable electrode 5 which is fixed and connected to one of the pair of the reed terminals 3 and enabled to be separated from and joined to the other reed terminal, and a cover 10 to cover a crimp reinforcement part 7 installed at the reed terminals 3, at least a part of the pair of the reed terminals 3, and the movable electrode 5.
