PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit data writing in accordance with a host device to be connected in a composite type storage medium. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a recording medium 10 having a first data area, a second data area, a nonvolatile storage medium 11 having an identification information table to integrate and manage the first and the second data areas, an information selection part 14 for selecting positional information in which predetermined identification information is written on the basis of the identification information table in accordance with the type of a host device 4, a conversion part 15 for converting the positional information selected by the information selection part 14 into positional information corresponding to the first data area, a first writing part for writing data supplied from the host device 4 in the first data area on the basis of the conversion processing of the conversion part 15, and a second writing part for writing the data supplied from the host device in the second data area.
