PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve memory use efficiency for multiple language coping of a portable communication appliance or a mobile communication device such as a PHS, and to facilitate the maintenance of a language. SOLUTION: A terminal 10 performs wireless connection to a language management server 40 on the Internet 30 via a base station 20 by use of a Web function, selects a language used in a content form screen from the server 40, and transmits selected language information to the language management server 40 together with machine type information of the terminal 10. The server 40 searches an according language management DB 41 from a machine type of the terminal 10 and the designated language, and transmits retrieved language data to the terminal 10. The terminal 10 stores the received language data, performs installation work, and performs a change work to desired language data from the presently set language. Thereby, the multiple language coping of the terminal 10 is made to be possible by only preparing an initial character string, a storage area of the downloaded language data, and an installation execution program.
