PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical correcting press which can form a workpiece to be corrected so as to give it balanced density and high precision, and surely corrects distortion even in the workpiece to be corrected with a large diameter, while maintaining a correcting speed. SOLUTION: This mechanical correcting press 10 has a die 14, an upper punch 15, an upper punch plate 17 for supporting the upper punch 15, a lower punch 37, a lower punch plate 50 for supporting a lower punch 37, and a mechanical drive source, so as to form the workpiece to be corrected in a cavity A. The correcting press further has a first sliding mechanism 53 installed therein for relatively moving the lower punch 37 so as to separate it from the lower punch plate 50.
