FIELD: metallurgical production processes, namely wire treatment and making articles of it, methods for cleaning steel wire surfaces, for example before applying metallic coating onto it. ^ SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of heating wire in melt; cooling it. Wire is cooled in alkali solution at wire temperature introduced into alkali solution more than boiling temperature of said solution. ^ EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities, lowered cost of wire surface cleaning process, improved labor conditions at removing from wire surface such contamination as residues of drawing process lubricant and iron oxides. ^ 8 cl, 2 tbl, 1 ex |
