A novel antiviral pharmaceutical composition in the form of a solution, including acyclovir as the active principle in an amount of around 5 wt %; a solvent in an amount of around 10-20 wt %; a solubilizing agent in an amount of around 1.5-5.0 wt %; a wetting agent in an amount of around 2-10 wt %; an antipruritic agent in an amount of around 0.05-1.0 wt %; an antioxidant in a n amount of around 0.1-0.5 wt %; and demineralized water in an amount of aroun d 20-80 wt %.
