摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start time control method which allows a hybrid vehicle to start with a sufficient torque assist of a small battery capacity by amplifying a starting driving force while limiting power consumption even when battery charging capacity SOC is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle 10 comprises a diesel engine 11, MMT 12, a motor generator (MG) 17, a torque converter 16, a power control means of controlling a power supply to MG 17 from a accelerator opening and SOC, and a switching control means for switching the torque converter 16 between operated and non-operated states base on the SOC. If the SOC is higher than a given value at the time when vehicle starts (step S 11 is denied), the torque converter 16 is rendered non-operated (step S 17). If the SOC is lower than a given value (a step S 11 is affirmed and an S 12 is affirmed), the torque converter 16 is rendered operated to start the vehicle (step S 13).
