INSTRUMENT PANEL OF VEHICLE, CONTROL METHOD FOR BRAKING SYSTEM INDICATOR AND VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument panel 36 for a vehicle 10 equipped with an anti-lock braking system 20 and a regenerative braking system 14.

SOLUTION: When it is determined that an abnormality exists in either of the anti-lock braking system 20 or the regenerative braking system 14, a first indicator is illuminated in amber to alert a vehicle driver to this situation. When the anti-lock braking system 20 is active and no abnormal condition is detected in the anti-lock braking system 20, a second indicator is illuminated in green to alert the vehicle driver that the anti-lock braking system 20 is active. Even when the anti-lock braking system 20 is used together with an electric hydraulic type braking system, visual feedback to the vehicle driver is performed. Control of the first and second indicators is performed in accordance with a hierarchial structure giving priority to an abnormal condition in the anti-lock braking system 20.
