<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of resource required for mounting and to maximize the amount of processing packet data per a unit time when the packet data is processed through a plurality of sequential packet processing circuits. <P>SOLUTION: The stream data processing device comprises two transmission-side packet processing circuits 1 and 4, a shared reception-side packet processing circuit 5 for faster packet processing than that, and a selector 7 that selects one output of the transmission-side packet processing circuits 1 and 4 for transmitting it to the reception-side packet processing circuit 5. Packet buffer circuits 10A and 10B interposed between the transmission-side packet processing circuits 1 and 4 and the selector 7 comprises a storage means in which the entire or a part of the packet outputted from the transmission-side packet processing circuits 1 and 4 is temporarily stored, and start transmitting the stored packet at the speed faster than the packet processing speed of the transmission-side packet processing circuits 1 and 4 when the entire packet data is received or the entire capacity of the storage means is used up. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
