PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which preventively registers a correctable read error point and which suppresses the generation of an uncorrectable read error. SOLUTION: In the correctable read error processing method, when the correctable read error point is generated, the point is preventively registered in advance. For the sector in which the correctable read error is generated, a command Write $ Verify is issued from a host device for the same sector, and the data are written again. The readout is again executed to verify the matching of the readout data. When the correctable read error again occurs, reassignment processing is performed by the host device.
