PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for supporting design suitable for finding out the possibility of causing a defect in a design object at the design stage by using an FT diagram etc., and a program for embodying those by a computer and a recording medium therefor. SOLUTION: The design support device includes a dictionary part, a chart input reception part, a trouble record generation part, and a trouble record output part, the design support device being characterized in that the trouble record generation part has an event classifying means, a trouble mode related event group extracting means, and a trouble record generating means of generating a trouble record including control property related information, strength related information, stress related information, and trouble mode related information as to each trouble mode related event group.
