PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slider device with a travelling head having improved travelling accuracy and durability for maintaining accuracy. SOLUTION: The slider device comprises a base 200, the travelling head 300 provided slidable on the base 200 along the guiding direction of a predetermined guide mechanism 400, a rack 510 provided on the base 200 along the guiding direction of the guide mechanism 400, a pinion 520 to be rotationally driven in engagement with rack teeth of the rack 510 by a predetermined driving source 564, a swing arm 540 for rotatably journaling the pinion 520, having a rocking shaft 550 almost parallel to the rotating shaft of the pinion 520 and rockingly connected to the travelling head 300 via the rocking shaft 550 in the basic state that a line connecting the rocking shaft 550 to the rotating shaft of the pinion 520 is almost parallel to the rack 510, and an energizing mechanism 570 for energizing the pinion 520 via the swing arm 540 toward the rack 510.
