PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid immersion lens which has a shape for increasing a tilt margin between a lens and an optical recording medium and so on and allowing to decrease the diameter of a lens, and a method for forming the solid immersion lens.

SOLUTION: An inclined portion 4 is formed on at least a part from the tip end of an objective side to a spherical portion, wherein if an inclination angle of incident light Li on the solid immersion lens 11 is expressed as θi, the angle θ of incidence of light from a light axis c satisfies θ≥θ1.
