PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical element operating stably for a long time by suppressing the deterioration of constituting material of the electrochemical element and reduction of electric characteristics of the electrochemical element caused mainly by the decomposed material of an electrolyte.

SOLUTION: This piperazine derivative expressed by formula (A) and capable of capturing water and the decomposed material of the electrolyte is provided. The electrochemical element is provided by containing the piperazine derivative.
