<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for transmitting a control signal through an optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: The device for reading an optical recording medium (9) and writing into the optical recording medium (9) comprises an optical pickup head (1) for scanning the optical recording medium (9) by a scanning beam (5), a photodetector (2) arranged apart from the optical pickup head (1) for detecting a received beam (11) received from the optical recording medium (9), and the optical fiber (3) arranged between the optical pickup head (1) and the photodetector (2) to guide the received beam (11) to the photodetector (2).
