ATM REPEATER AND ATM REPEATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct an effective preferential control without a complicated work in an ATM repeater at a center base connected by ATM leased lines respectively at a plurality of regional bases.

SOLUTION: The ATM repeater has a CLP gaining section 13a graining the value of a CLP from an ATM cell from the ATM leased line 4a, an SAR function section 14 generating an Ethernet frame from the ATM cell and a destination investigating section 15 investigating the place of a destination incorporated into the Ethernet frame generated by the SAR function section 14. The ATM repeater further has a CLP decision section 16a deciding the value of a CLP gained by the CLP gaining section 13a, and a CLP setting section 13b setting the value of the CLP decided by the CLP decision section 16a to the ATM cell when an ATM network is used as the destination by an investigation by the destination investigating section 15. The SAR function section 14 generates the ATM cell again from the Ethernet frame generated once, and transfers the ATM cell to the CLP setting section 13b when the ATM network is used as the destination.
