<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which required memory capacity can be reduced and unevenness occurring for each pixel can be eliminated. <P>SOLUTION: In order to correct the current or the time for driving an LPH 14, minimum value of correction data and the difference between correction data of each light emitting element and the minimum value are stored, as compressed correction data, in a correction data memory 15. The compressed correction data is read out from the correction data memory 15 and decompressed at a correction data decompressing section 16 by adding the difference to the minimum value.
