<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top plate for a cooker with excellent strength of an end part. <P>SOLUTION: This top plate 1 for the cooker arranged in an upper part of the cooker comprises a plate base 12 comprising glass or a ceramic, and a protection layer 15 comprising a resin material provided in a side face 120 of the plate base 12. The protection layer 15 has A10-A90 of durometer hardness. The protection layer 15 comprises preferably a synthetic resin, a silicone resin, a natural rubber or a synthetic rubber.
