PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file transfer system for allowing transfer of data inside an information transfer terminal to the other information transfer terminal by only exchanging a file index between portable terminals. SOLUTION: An index management part of the information transfer terminal 100 generates the file indexes (file names, storage destination address information, address information of the information transfer terminal 100) of all the data stored in a storage part 101, and transmits a list thereof to a portable terminal 110. When transmitting an arbitrary index from the index list to a portable terminal 210, the portable terminal 210 transmits the index to the information transfer terminal 200, and the information transfer terminal 200 transmits a file transfer request to the information transfer terminal 100.
