PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus capable of performing a display which can strongly attract viewer's attention. SOLUTION: In the display apparatus, pixel bodies 3 are arrayed on a light shielding board 2 in a display area, each pixel body 3 is constituted so that a translucent cylinder 32 is fixed on the back of a light shielding plate 31, the light shielding plate 31 is arranged approximately on the same surface as the surface of the light shielding board 2 in a non-display state and the pixel body 3 can be moved back and forth by a rear advancing or retreating mechanism, light sources 12 are arranged on rear positions, and at the time of display, a required pixel body 3 is moved forward by a control means and a pixel is displayed on the outer periphery of the light shielding plate 31 by light leaked from the translucent cylinder 32.
