PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for heat-treating a fiber, having a low heat loss and environmental load, requiring a short time for reaching to a prescribed temperature after turning on electricity, capable of performing a quick temperature control, also without using a large scale heat-treating chamber used conventionally, capable of heat-treating fibers such as a fabric uniformly and obtaining fibrous products having stable quality, and a device for executing the same. SOLUTION: The method for heat-treating the fiber by using an infrared light irradiation is provided by using a halogen heater as the infrared light-irradiating means.
