The application describes a fume suction device (10) comprising a housing (12) which is to be disposed beneath a food preparation arrangement (e.g. a cooking plate (16)), said housing comprising, one after the other in the direction of flow, an air inlet (24) with associated fat filter (42), a fan (38) and an air outlet (44) with associated odour filter (54, 56). The housing (12) is flat and rectangular in shape. The odour filter (54, 56) consists of at least two odour filter plates (54a, 54b, 56a, 56b) between the fan (38) and the air outlet (44), which are inclined at an acute angle to the direction of flow and are substantially V-shaped. The air outlet (44) is associated with at least one opening (62, 64) in the side walls (46, 48) and/or in the floor of the housing (12). Said fume suction device (10) can be used as a bench-top unit. The special design of the odour filter results in the demands for sufficient suctioning and filtering power being met. Fumes are sucked into the housing (12) located beneath the food preparation arrangement and air from which the fat and odours have been removed can be easily released therefrom into the surrounding environment. |
