A tamper evident cap 10 for use with a valve (fig 2) having a circumferential groove (18,fig 2) therein, for example a conventional valve used with LPG containers. The cap 10 comprises a body 24 having a circumferantial sidewall 26 which, in use, surrounds the circumferential groove (18) of the valve, the sidewall 26 having a pair of barbs 44 which are seated within the circumferential groove (18) in use, in order to prevent removal of the cap 10 from the valve once pressed into position thereon. In order to facilitate removal of the cap 10 from the valve, the sidewall 26 incorporates a strip 42 which may be torn away from the sidewall 26 in order to permit the sidewall to be deformed outwardly away from the circumferential groove. The strip 42 may be defined by a pair of substantially parallel lines of weakness in the form of webs 40. A ring pull 30 may be provided to facilitate removal of the strip 42.
