An apparatus 300 for indicating that a rechargeable power supply of a portable device (510, fig. 5) should be charged comprises means 340 for determining whether a portable device is located in an area where it may be charged, means 360 for determining the charge level of the rechargeable power supply, and means 390 for indicating that the portable device needs to be charged in dependence on the power level and location of the device. The means for determining whether the device is in an area where it may be charged may comprise GPS, Wi-fi (RTM), Bluetooth (RTM), or RFID technology. The portable device may be a laptop computer, a mobile phone, a camera or a personal stereo. |
