A servo drive for a turnstile has the servo motor (28) mounted on a pivot arm (26) which is restricted to move between two end settings depending on the drive direction of the motor. The servo drive operates on a first cam plate (36) which interacts with a second cam plate (21) fitted to the movable part of the turnstile. The drive is self locking and provides good security.
