The unique pairs of minutiae points that are identified in the fingerprints (M1-M8) are created. Each pair of minutiae points are represented by a distance between minutiae point and by angles associated with the minutiae point included in the pair. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) method for checking person's identity; (2) computer program product for reference data creation; (3) device for checking person's identity; (4) computer program product for finger representation creation and person's identity checking; (5) method for creating reference data used for checking person's identity; and (6) device for creating reference data used for checking person's identity.
