Each node of a spanning tree system operating in a network connected to a plurality of nodes includes: two transfer devices for deciding a transfer destination port according to the destination MAC address of the frame which has been input; two tree managers for creating a spanning tree according to a spanning tree protocol; and a virtual port connecting the tree manager to the transfer device.
