The method involves automatically detecting the presence of a detachable headphone (3) of a portable apparatus (2) using radio frequency waves in the band of 2.4 gigahertz by implementing a Bluetooth protocol. The access to the apparatus is unlocked when the headphone is at a distance lower than or equal to a determined distance (R), of the order of 2 meters, from the apparatus. An independent claim is also included for a system of controlling an access to a portable apparatus.
