PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer blend comprising one or more kinds of thermoplastic polymers, and a polymer containing a structural unit derived from 2-hydrocarbyl-3,3-bis(4-hydroxyaryl)phthalimidine, and having excellent flame retardancy and improved physical characteristics. SOLUTION: The polymer blend contains a polycarbonate containing the 2-hydrocarbyl-3,3-bis(4-hydroxyaryl)phthalimidine which is a reaction product of one or more kinds of substituted or nonsubstituted phenolphthaleins with one or more kinds of substituted or nonsubstituted primary hydrocarbyl amines, and which is represented by the formula (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and a hydrocarbyl group; and R<SP>2</SP>is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a hydrocarbyl group and a halogen) as a constituent unit.
