PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevating and lowering apparatus for a vehicle in which the inclination of a mounting part is suppressed in simple constitution. SOLUTION: A mounting base 1 is constituted so that a person in a wheelchair is mounted on one side of the base in a horizontal width direction, a caretaker is mounted on the other side in the horizontal width direction and the person in the wheelchair and the caretaker can be mounted side by side in the horizontal width direction. Of a pair of actuators 5 for elevating and lowering, the output of the actuator 5B for elevating and lowering on the side of mounting the person in the wheelchair in the horizontal width direction is made higher than that of the actuator 5A for elevating and lowering on the side of mounting the caretaker in the horizontal width direction.
