FIELD: petroleum and gas industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drilling petroleum and gas holes. The drilling mud containing magnesium chloride, calcium bromide, caustic magnesite, ortho-phosphoric acid, starch water contains additionally caustic soda in the following ratio of components, wt.-%: magnesium chloride, 13.1-14; calcium bromide, 33.0-33.9; caustic magnesite, 0.40-0.49; ortho-phosphoric acid, 0.4-10; starch, 0.3-0.7; caustic soda, 0.2-0.7, and water, the balance. Invention can be used in opening productive beds and overhaul repair works of holes.
