<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a phospholipid composition which needs neither expensive equipment nor complicated process to purify the composition in order to remove remaining amino acids which cause the composition to get colored brown in the storage; and a pharmaceutical composition, a cosmetic composition, and a food composition using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises dissolving a phospholipid composition in a solvent to give a solution, which is then contacted with a silicon-containing porous inorganic particle preferably made of alumina silicate, followed by removing the solvent, wherein the method allows the phospholipid composition to have a total amino acid content of 50 mg% by mass or less.
