<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device, having both a luminescent display function and a reflective display function, both of which allow sufficient luminance to be obtained, regardless of the brightness of ambient circumstances when utilizing either of the function. <P>SOLUTION: A display device 1 is constituted, by arranging a phase difference layer 3 having a phase difference layer capable of electrically controlling the phase difference, laminated between a pair of electrodes 31a and 31b and a polarizing element 4, in the order at the observation side of a luminescent display element 2 which has an electrical luminescent layer capable of electrically emitting light, laminated between a pair of electrodes 21a and 21b and is light-reflective and has the observation side made light-transmissive. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
