<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standby remote monitoring device which performs remote monitoring in proxy when a main remote monitoring device can not perform remote monitoring of equipment at a low cost and to provide an equipment monitoring system using the same at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The remote monitoring device is provided with the main remote monitoring device 3a and the standby remote monitoring device 3b. The main remote monitoring device 3a performs the remote monitoring of an air conditioner 1 by processing information on the air conditioner 1.
